Leading with Grace in Clumsy Times

A consistent element in Stephanie’s life has been her involvement in sports. She has embraced various roles, including player, coach, sports parent, and administrator. In each of these capacities, she strives to support, collaborate with, respect, and earn the trust of those she serves. Her passion lies in education through athletics, which she approaches by embodying the character traits exemplified by Jesus and the guidance He offers for life.

As the WIAA Executive Director, she emphasizes the organization’s role as a service entity within the state. Stephanie assumed the position of executive director in 2021, having previously served as assistant director since 2015. Her responsibilities encompass overseeing all administrative functions of the executive office, including contractual interpretations, classification, elections, cheer and spirit groups, NFHS awards, and legislative and legal issues. Her previous roles also included conference realignment and serving as the staff liaison to the Sports Medical Advisory Committee.

Since her tenure at the WIAA, Hauser has also participated at the national level. She has been appointed to the National Federation of State High School Associations Board of Directors, the NFHS Strategic Planning Committee, the Education Committee, the NFHS Gymnastics Rules Committee, and the NFHS Student Services Committee.

A native of Antigo, Hauser currently resides in Stevens Point with her husband, Dave. Outside of her professional commitments, she has found joy watching her three children as high school and collegiate student athletes and now as professionals with careers in athletics.
